Dusty Feet Ministries.org The Bible Record Clearly Shows that God "worked". Fact is that throughout the Bible we are told that we are to work for a living. To illustrate that fact, Jesus told parables to teach people the importance of working. Following that lead, all apostles sustained themselves in one way or another. Apostle Paul for example, "brought home the proverbial bacon" by making tents. He worked and did not rely on the church for support. Neither do we!

"The Bible...?" After centuries, many are still confused:
Often asked is "what exactly is the Bible - Really?" Space limitations requires as concise a response as possible.
The word bible derives from the Greek biblios meaning bunch of little books, as it is a conglomeration of writings, letters, and the like. The current Christian Bible comprises 66 writings that were culled from many more about 300 years after the death and resurrection of Jesus.
At that time, none of the bible books had chapter or verse. Neither were any of those writings referred to as "holy". So, along with the "Apostolic Creed" and "The Trinity", chapter and verse were added at that time. Centuries later a king of England named James, made his own "corrections".
To answer the question as to what the Bible is than? It is simply an instruction book for humans as to who we are, how we should treat each other, and what humans should do or not, to be able to live on this planet. As to all that, it is clear that people have miserably failed in those regards.
Like any maker of a product anywhere on earth, generally included with that product are a set of written instructions. It is presumed that the consumer will follow those written instructions how to put the product together correctly so it will work, or how to handle it so it won't break. That is what the Bible is for humans. A set of "Tenant House Rules".
So, instead of viewing the Bible as "holy" and never really reading or understanding the instructions in it because of the mental hang-up of it being "holy", just open it up and read the instructions in it as to how to live on this planet.
Nonetheless, that historical record of 6000 years of man's history, were written under inspiration of The Holy Spirit - for that reason. It was originated by our Maker ... the God who created the universe and all things that it contains.
An interesting
thought to consider is, that if Adam had followed the rules in the beginning, the "Bible" as we know it today, and the history of mankind, would not have been written. It would not have been needed. The reason is, it records the only complete lineage - that of Jesus.
We will have 1000 years to learn about all these things.
The "Lord's Prayer"... What does it mean?:
Known as the "Our Father" or "Pater Noster", it is the most misunderstood "Model Prayer" in Christendom. A person who really wanted to know God asked Jesus, "How must I pray?" Jesus answered "Thus...", and proceeded to list in order of importance the things humans should ask from God - beginning with glorifying the Father, and ending that God's Will be done throughout the entire universe.
After all the writings and opinions of religious scholars, the long and short of the so-called "Lord's Prayer" is, that it is not in any way a prayer to be said in endless repetition by rhyme or rote*. In Matthew 6: 5-13, and Luke 11: 1-13, we are told so by Jesus who made his intention clear. It was only to be a guide for us on how we should talk to God.
* Rote: "Mechanical repetition... without understanding".
We should generate our own spontaneous prayers as the spirit moves us to. Those prayers God will hear.
